2004 Yukon Idling low and dying

I dont know if has anything to do with it but ever since I ran out of gas the other day my 2004 yukon has been dying on me. It runs fine as long as the rpm's are up but will dye when the truck idles. Any thoughts, maybe a filter?

maybe the filter also could be the fuel pump. If you run your truck with less than a 1/4 tank of gas a lot of the time it can cause the fuel pump to go out prematurely. I'd replace the filter first, as it's much cheaper than the pump.

I don't think 04' and up have a fuel filter. My Tahoe has a nonchangeable filter in the fuel sending unit.

Im sure it is the IAC motor...Idle Air Control...Clean the throttle body really good with Carb cleaner. THe lil hole on the upper left I believe is the IAC hole. I have dont alot of looking into this but my 03 did the same thing and I sprayed it a week ago and it cleaned right up...

If its started when you ran out of gas I can bet its the fuel pump.
Whats weird is all over online it says thatrunning under 1/4 tank of gas causes problems but thats not entirely true, I have seen cars with 90k miles and ran alot with low fuel and they are perfectly fine.
Guess it just depends on the car....

I had the same problem with my Denali, cleaned the throttle body and it runs perfect!

Yea me too, after the throttle body cleaning problem went away...

My 2004 Denali was just showing the same symptoms. My mechanic replaced the entire throttle body. Now the frequency of the problem has decreased, but it is still there. He wants to replace the gas pedal - he faults the 'drive by wire' system. Before I fork out $300 bucks, does anyone have any ideas of other things I can check first? Is the IAC included in the throttle body or is it a seperate part?

I agree, Clean your TB. However; DO NOT use carb cleaner. Your TB has a teflon coating and carb cleaner will destroy it. Use MAF parts cleaner, or equal.

Also, while you have your intake tube off, clean your TB.
