2004 Yukon XL Denali + American Racing Mojave Teflon Wheels (17x8)

Hi, guys!

I have 2004 Yukon XL Denali (AWD) and I recently purchased used American Racing Mojave Teflon Wheels (17x8).
I want to put 285/70R17 BF Goodrich KO2 on them.

  1. How many inches should I raise in front and back?
  2. Also, will it mess up my auto ride system?
  3. Which leveling kit should I purchase?

285/70r17 is a 33" tall tire. You'll need 2-3" up front to clear them. The rear will clear just fine but it will look goofy with the front lifted.

Here is mine with lift keys set with a whole bunch of room for more lift and a 2" rear spacer.

Tires are 265/70r17 which is 31.5 when new. My 285/70r17 Cooper ATP's get installed on sunday. I'll be sure to take pictures.

Ebay keys and 1 1/2 - 2" coil spacers (doesn't matter which ones, cheapest is just fine) and Z71 rear coil springs from Rockauto.com. I'd also spring $20 for some 3" extended TJ rear sway bar links, your sway bar will be relocated to the correct angles. If you have Autoride, you can fab and relocate the trigger up 2-3",keep it functional, OR just delete it and run new longer shocks.

You can actually clear them by ONLY turning up your stock keys, but they would have to be on wheels with close-to-stock backspacing.


285/75/17's (32.8") on 16x8 wheels with 1 1/4" more offset than stock - stick out even with the flares. - Stock keys, only turned up about 1 1/2" - didn't rub anywhere.

With 3" in front from Ford leveling keys for a '98-02 Expedition, and Z71 springs and 2" spacers in the rear. KYB Monomax shocks in the front (2-5" of lift extended), stock length in the rear with 2" extensions, and the aforementioned sway bar links. Fender heights at 39 3/4" front, 40 1/4" rear - slight 1/2" rake.

I have a set of 20x8.5 Denali wheels, I can most likely put 275/65/20's (34.1") on it without any more lift, maybe a little plastic trimming.

Looking good!

I'm thinking of going with 2.5" front and 1" back setup with 285/70R17 BFGs. What do you think?

You can't look any goofier than me! Pretty sad, as I have to duck to sit down into a stock height Tahoe or Suburban. With the lift I have now, I just put my right foot on the running board, and slide my 320 lb ass onto the seat.

That looks great!

Can you tell me which leveling kit you used?
How many inches for front and back?
Is your Escalade AWD?
Does it have Autoride?

It's a Crown Suspension kit. Keys and spacers.

It's awd with authorize but the authorize doesn't work and the previous owner replaced the rear shocks with something generic.

The plan is to put some bilstien reservoir shocks on the rear and 5100 series up front.

It gets a little rub when the rear is stuffed. It hits the plastic inner fender that covers the upper part of the shock. I'm thinking a set of 1" spacers will do the trick. It has plenty of room between the tire and the body cladding.
