2005 z71 suburban tranny issues??

hey guys, im looking into a 2005 z71 sub with 58k miles. the current owner said he replace the tranny because it was slipping. He told me he did some investigating and found this was a some what common isuue in this yr. anyone ever hear of this?? this was new to me. any info would be appreciated. thanks

I wouldn't think a truck with 58k would need a new trans. I personally think gm should have used a 4l65e or 4l80e instead of the 4l60e in all full size SUVs. Especially since the trailblazer and envoy get them. I replaced the 4l60e in my 02 ext cab twice after the first one blew up. It had 99k and both the original owner and I drove it like we stole it.
