Anyone else experience a loud radio/nav cooling fan? I replaced the unit in my 2006 with a direct match as far as part numbers go and had it reprogrammed just now. Complete success, all things working as normal except the fan in the fan is excessively loud. I have the dash off still and sticking my finger along the side as far back as possible and it does feel quite warm/hot to the touch.
Only anomyly to factory spec is that I also just installed the iSimple adapter, which is also working like a charm. Is it possible the adapter and added wiring all stuffed in there is restricting air flow that significantly? It doesn't seem to me that it should cause a problem.
It's definitely a fan, not the Mac trying to read the DVD. It distinctly slows and whirs once the car is completely off and the door has been opened.
Any thoughts?
