Having a hard time deciding between the two for my next daily driver? I love the sport and ride of the TBSS, but love the lux of the tahoe. I have worries about the reliability of the SS between the trans and AWD. I would want Awd cause of the snow in my area. What can everyone suggest or input? Thanks

I would go w/ the SS just because i dont see many of them and its a little easier to maneuver around in. Tahoes are nice, but what years are you looking at? A new tahoe or 07/08 also. Also, the cost of each. But i love my tahoe. Almost got a ss before it, but price was to high.

We have had both, love them both for different reasons. When it comes down to it, go with what suits your lifestyle and your tastes best.

I had an 07 and the Denali replaced the SS. Just like the above post I liked them both for different reasons. Although GM bought the SS back because it was a lemon, never have so maney problems from a new car in my life. If it were me I would get a print out of the service performed on the car before you buy it.

My heart wants the SS, but the family man in me says get what might be more reliable in the long run?? I know things can go whong with either but chances are the SS might have more problems?? What to do.....

We have had no problems with our 08 SS, we bought it new. If you are buying used, just make sure it wasn't abused by the owner.

Thats gonna be tuff to do? You must be one of the lucky ones because for every 5 solid SS trucks I hear about 1 has had nothing but problems. Like I said the kid in me really wants the SS but I see it comes with a price since gas would kill me. I would have a car payment and a gas payment. I also have a 5 month old that needs to be safe and in a reliable truck/suv. I know it sounds like I'm taking myself into a tahoe, but deep down I want the ss. I'm trying to make the right decision for family purposes and still keep dad happy since I have to drive it every day.

We have both a Silverado SS and a TBSS and haven't had any issues (knock on wood), but we also take good care of our vehicles. They are both blown, and the SSS has quite a few mods on it.

The TBSS isn't a bad family car (we have a carseat in the back waiting for our little guy to arrive), but I wouldn't try putting 5 grown adults in there for a long car ride.

I will say that I knew I would be getting another full size SUV when getting rid of the Tahoe, as the TBSS is more Justin's grocery getter. Guess it depends on what all you plan on hauling around.

My train of thought, they SHOULD be equally reliable. Mine wasn’t and GM covered everything but once a month in the shop was too much, and the type of things that went bad was the type of things that has nothing to do with it being a hot rod and it was all stock. Other people have had no problems and are perfectly happy with them, so I think I just got a bad one. I also take very good care of my vehicles and like taking care of them! Finding a nice size piece of metal on my drain plug magnet on the first oil change at 500 miles should have been my first clue. My Denali 6.2 and the SS get about the same mileage, with the Denali being slightly better but they are so close I wouldn’t make my decision on that. Myself, if the SS was not a lemon, I would have preferred it over the Denali but I like hot rods.
