2007 Denali whirring/whining noise with RPMs

Sounds like a power steering pump to me. Have you checked the fluid level? You're about due for a power steering pressure hose to start leaking badly enough to slowly drop your fluid level.

lol, go figure, didn't sound like ps pump to me at all but figured some type of fluid was low if it was metal on metal contact

Now to find the leak

Hopefully the leak stop I poured in does the trick. I'll keep an eye on it tho. May just be time to replace it.

I got the same thing going on, not sure yet if it's the power steering pump. I checked the fluid and it was lower than in my other (non-whining Denali). Added some and will report if it gets better.
