My knowledge is pretty old school on tune ups. My 2007 Suburban has 146k on it and I've had it for less than a year so I don't know the previous maintenance history. Should it be needing plugs if it hasn't had them in a while and do you replace the "coils" or what you call the spark packs for each plug? Looking to bring my in town mileage back up to 14 from 12.

Another thought non engine. I'm looking to replacing my front brakes soon and has anyone tried upgrading their rotors? I've seen some upgraded rotors available on amazon. I don't think upgraded brakes could hurt with all the in town running around we do in this heavy vehicle.

I would pull a plug on each side, check the gaps and see what color/condition they are. A set of NGK plugs and some AC Delco wires are easy and inexpensive. Maybe also pull the Mass air sensor and clean it with the MAF cleaner. a dirty sensor can take away from the MPGs a bit. Shouldnt need coils, unless you get a misfire code or something on those lines.

My 08 2wd with 155K is getting around 19MPG, 75% highway. the dash says 21.5avg, but that obviously is a bit high

Thanks for the input. I'll check out those amazon kits I do like amazon. I got a road trip this fall from WA State to Disneyland for the kids so I want it in top shape.
