hey I have a 2007 Tahoe, recently I've noticed the breaks were acting up. I had a weird feeling in the break pedal almost felt like the ABS was being activated, and after that I could feel resistance while driving, I checked the front drivers side after smelling breaks burning and there was zero free spin in the wheel, It had a lot of drag and the breaks were extremely hot, also feels like the back breaks are not getting the breaking power they used too. any suggestions on where to start?

I know collapsed soft lines can act like a check valve and keep pressure in the caliper. I personally experienced this after a brake job on my Jeep. I dropped the caliper after I removed it and it kinda "bungee'd" by the rubber hose. I went through with the brake job just in case the hose wasn't damaged. I applied the brakes once and felt drag and smelled brakes the whole way back home. This is why you should never let the caliper hang by the hose.

In your case, is it both front brakes dragging?

I'd replace the hoses (yes- both sides). It's a cheap maintenance item and quite a possibility as the cause. I'd suggest new pads and fluid if you really wanna be thorough. If the pads have a lot of life and aren't cracked from the heat, you might can get away with sanding off the glaze to restore their braking performance. The fluid could have been burnt from the heat.
