2007 Tahoe Broken Into

I went in to the gym for about 40 minutes in the middle of the day, only to come back to my car and discover that it had been broken into. Not exactly sure how they did it, but it looks like they slightly pried back the driver door handle as it seems a little bit loose now.

Has anyone else heard of this? Does anyone know any preventative measures that could eliminate this type of break in?

Also, it's pretty annoying that the alarm didn't go off. What the heck is it there for if it won't go off when someone forces a door open without the key?

OMG i about 10 years ago i had this extended cab dakota and i had installed a aftermarket stereo the night before and the next moring it was all gone and they broke the extended cab glass wich turned out to be the most expensive peice of glass on the vehicle

I will admit, I replaced the LH rear door handle on my 07 because the door handle did not line up right. There was a gap in the middle where there is a little plastic clip.

Needless to say I am underwhelmed by the design of the door handles. They are very cheaply made and they are just plastic, I think If I simply pulled hard enough with the door locked I could pull a handle right off the door. Not to mention the sheet metal is very thin and bends easily.

Jimmi Jammers are good, but if a thief cant get in thru the door handle, they will probably break a window. So now you've got body damage, and broken glass.

There's no way to prevent break ins. Alarms only do so much. How many times do you hear one going off in the distance, and just keep on walking? Most important thing to do is leave NOTHING in view. Not even a pair of sunglasses.

All the FSC are easy to break into with just a flathead screwdriver. Takes them less than 2 seconds to get in. Most will use the screwdriver to trip the unlock, as if a key were unlocking it in the door, hence, no alarm going off.
