2007 Tahoe LT at 46K miles.

My brakes squeak right before I come to a complete stop. Had this problem before. My dealership said it had to with the drive shaft seal being dry and lubricated the drive shaft.

Does anyone know where the driveshaft seal is located? Should I just grease the entire drive shaft? Any places to avoid when lubricating? Can I just use any type of grease (I have grease that works on a high temperature) or must I use GM grease ( I think the part number starts with 1234....)?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The seal is located where the shaft does into the tranmission (or transfer case).
Basically further up the shaft right behind the trans, grease it as you want but just use the right grease.

thanks for your input. I hear this clunking/squealing noise when I either come to a complete stop or go over bumps or dips. It gets worse when there are more passengers and when I have AC on. Anyone know what the problme is? I think it has to do with the driveshaft and may need lubricating. Are driveshaft issues covered under the powertrain warranty?

Thanks in advance.
