The system is factory and sounds good except there is hardly any bass. It is almost like it doesn't have a subwoofer. BOSE in 06 tahoe sounds much better. Is this normal for the newer styles or could I have something wrong?

Just out of curiosity - do you have the bass turned all the way up? I am not trying to make you sound stupid or anything, I am just making sure to eliminate that first. :hands:

I know the bose factory systems are not the best, but I find the sound (including the bass) to be fairly decent for what I am looking for.

What are you listening too exactly (XM, FM/AM, CD, Ipod, DVD)? I do notice a change depending on the source music that is being listened too. I find the sound to be better when my ipod is plugged in vs. FM radio. CD's and DVD's always sound pretty good. XM sound isn't bad, but I tend to notice changes based on the particular radio station. Some seem to be better sounding (deep bass, clear and loud) then others. Just a few observations of mine to consider....

Very true. I could also tell quite a difference when I took out the factory nav headunit and installed a pioneer nav. I am now happy enough with the factory bose speakers to not change them out.

Best saying I ever heard regarding Bose in a vehicle.

"No highs, no lows, must be a Bose"
