How can I tell if my Yukon Denali is awd without getting under the car to find the transfer case?

actualllyyyy they make RWD Escalade's. When I went car hunting for one I found a few 07's with 40k-50k miles that were around $30,000... then when I called the dealer/seller and got more info.. it was -always- RWD... all the same exact esky's with the same options but AWD were at LEAST $3,000-$5,000 more... So basically I found a black on black esky fully loaded with factory 22's for 30k but RWD, then ended up getting the same exact car but AWD for 35k flat... sucks that AWD costs so much :/

learn something new every day. I guess maybe it is my location. you would be hard pressed to find any vehicle in the northeast with the AWD or 4WD option without it. RWD simply does not sell in areas of annual snow... maybe thats what I thought all are AWD. Then without getting under the truck, just look in your wheel well. Look at your front spindles. If there is an axle going through the center of the spindle... it is AWD. If you just have the suspension points connected to your spindle, it is RWD.

Yea I actually was under the impression that all Denali's and Escalade's were AWD too... but I live in Louisiana so all the Escalade's around here are RWD which made it even harder to find an AWD one.. I ended up finding one 4 hours away in Houston, TX so you just have to drive a little bit to find the right one.
