New here was looking for advice. Looking to buy a used tahoe, read some reviews and apparently 07 model seems to have some problems and apparently 2010 and newer some of these problems were addressed . My question is are they serious problems ? Would it be worth it spending the extra 8k for 2010? I will be paying cash that's why I would like some input first . I read about the active fuel management and not a fan. So I saw a tuner which will turn it off. Since 07 had problems with afm would that tuner help it or still not worth it . Well thanks I'll keep browsing the forum since I'm new here but appreciate any and all advice .

07 was the new model change. Problems always seem to happen with new body changes. That goes for all brands. I'd say go for the 10.

Yup, 6 speed tranny, and a few small improvements. 8k for 3 years difference? Any other details you can provide to help make a recommendation. Year alone, I wouldnt mind pocketing the 8k for an emergency because buying used always has risk but definitely leaning towards 2010.

Regarding 'issues', if you find an 07 with high miles, it is probably one of the better built ones that wont run into issues, otherwise it wouldnt have survived this long. Most people complain about issues between 60-80k I think. Tranny was a big concern and I think 6 speed was introduced in 09? Regardless, maintenance of car is a huge factor so I would share more info on what you know about car history to help with decision. I rather take an 07 1 owner with maintenance records showing fluids changed vs 10 with no details whatsoever (unless price reflects).
