I am looking at a 2008 Denali with about 82k miles on it. It appears to be super clean. It has brand new tires and brakes. It seems to drive pretty good. I do hear a slight odd noise from what I suspect is the rear end. When taking off when on uneven pavement you can hear a little "pop" noise. Not totally sure what it is. Other issues are pass. side mirror won't retract or extend, rear defrost grid is bad, and the buttons for the DIC won't let you reset anything. Only one that really concerns me is the popping. I do electrical work so the other stuff isn't that big of a deal. Price right now is down to $26700. What you guys think?

No input on this? I would like some feedback as to what are the usual issues with one of these with 80k miles and what to expect? Contemplating on trading in my '07 Saturn Outlook AWD for this.

I"d be a little weary of that one at that price. I bought my 08 Denali XL with 25,000 miles on it 1 owner back in April for 32,500
My came with a bumper to bumper GM warranty luckily.
All below fixed under warranty :

New Front caliper ( driver front was locked up causing the front differential to start eating itself up)
Rebuild front diff
New rear air suspension compressor
New AC compressor
New Radiator (crack in original)

This all happened since I purchased in April and have put an additional 15,000 miles on it.

Ohio

The problem is that my trade in isn't worth squat but they are giving me enough to pay it off. I plan to work on them today to see what more they can move. Warranty stuff I am on too worried about since I work inside the dealership selling them aftermarket stuff. I have full reign of their computers and the service department treats me right on labor.

In June, I bought and 07' Denali XL with 61k on od for $26,000 from a dealer. Mine is first year, so might have some issues that yours doesn't, but you never know.

What I've learned and things you should look at:

1. Check the fit of the interior b-pillar panels, mine where popping out and there was a redesign with new clips, dealer replaced free of charge.
2. Check chrome on interior door pulls, one was peeling and sharp, again they were redesigned and dealer replaced the peeling one for free.
3. I'm replacing a front half axle (cv axle) this week, boot is cut and leaking grease.
4. Check the version of the nav dvd, may have been upgraded, may not. $199 for upgrade, so if not new, you can negotiate. version 7 is 2012, then the went with v2013 for 2013.
5. Check function of autoride suspension, turn key to "run" and load the back, with people, listen for compressor running.
6. Check for excessive rust underneath, might mean its seens some back winters up north. I can be fixed, but, again, a negotiating point.

That's all I got for now.

I just purchased an '08 Denali XL that is the same color as the one in your picture. LOL Very clean SUV with 69k miles. We payed just under $30k. I had been looking at '07-'10 Denali's for over six months and we were very happy with the price. Guess they go for more money in So Cal.

I'd be very pleased with the price of the one you're looking at IF it's as clean as you say and you can fix the minor electrical glitches. You can find Denalis at the price you are looking at out here, but they are cosmetically worn and/or have more mileage.

I do get a slight clunk from the rear when getting going more aggressively from a dead stop. Nothing serious enough to cause me any concern. Plus, we purchased a pretty good warranty. Let me know if you find out any info on the clunk. I've been in several trucks that do the same.

OK. Thanks for the feedback guys. I got them down to $25500 at the moment with them fixing ALL issues. I told them they could go lower and just take care of the clunk. I too am not sure what that noise is. My '01 Silverado has been doing it for a few years now and has gotten worse. I believe on the Silverado I either have a u-joint or pinion gear going bad. I didn't crawl under the thing extensively but it certainly is cleaner than my trade in is ;)

Radio software isn't a deal breaker for me. I plan on selling it on Ebay. I sell electronics and have really fell in love with my Pioneer that's in my current daily. How do you find out what version they are? If it's just a flash, I am sure I could get it updated so I could get a little more coin when I sell it. Personally I just didn't like the buttons or the small screen. Funny how big a difference 1.25" is on a NAV system.

1) All trim panels seem to fit very well
2) I am aware of those handles that peeled, these seem all OK
3) Didn't notice any leaking boots or anything. Supposedly they did what was needed when they did brakes/tires.
4) see my previous post
5) I saw/heard it operating like it should
6) See previous post

THX!

The nav DVD is behind the touch screen. The touch screen will flip down when you go thru the nav menu and select "change nav DVD" or something like that.

I agree with the other guys, the price is too high for the year. I bet you could find one with lower miles (maybe fewer options) for around the same price. I'd keep looking if i were you.
