Haven’t updated this in awhile. Here’s a pic of the trunk in the daylight with the tray.



Happened to catch a current CSP FPIU at a stop light kinda cool to get a pic of their current ride while being in a former CSP Vic.



I discovered the passenger side front window and the driver rear window didn’t work from the driver door so tested out a few things and put money on it being a bad driver door switch so I picked up that switch and the others (mirror and door locks) and swapped them out and everything worked like it should.

Installed these window bars I had sitting around, held in by two screws at the top and slips over the door panel.



Cleaned up that used leather steering wheel and installed the new buttons and correct wiring harness for adding the volume button.

Which brings to where I’m at currently. So awhile back I mentioned the driver-side exhaust manifold had a couple broken studs and was leaking so my buddy has a shop and does all my work that I don’t want to do so brought it there for him the pull the manifold and install a new one along with gaskets and new hardware well of course 4 snapped off and there next to impossible to get to with the front suspension on the Vic and the frame on an F150 or Expedition you can pull the fender liner but with the Vics that isn’t an option so the 3 that snapped off below the block it ended up being easier to pull the motor so the holes didn’t get messed up drilling them out since you’d basically be drilling them blind. So pulled the motor yesterday got it ready to go for Monday and while it’s out gonna do a few other things: passengers side manifold/gasket/hardware, water pump, oil pan gasket, oil filter adapter gasket, and since you have to pull the intake to pull the motor there’s two holes under that you use I’m throwing on a new OEM Ford intake I’ve had sitting around along with new plugs/coil boots, silicone coolant hoses and with the motor out there’s a power steering line that would have been a pain to replace so replacing that too, definitely wasn’t something I expected but ended up being able to tackle some things I wanted to do.

How was it when you pulled it apart? Or when you dropped the pan? Sludge? While it was out I would've beefed it up some.

Didn’t really pull it apart did both exhaust manifolds, oil pan gasket, front and rear main seal, oil adapter gasket, water pump, silicone radiator hoses, oil cooler hoses, power steering hoses, new intake plugs and boots and a few other odds and ends no sludge in the pan it was clean no leaks pretty much did everything else since it was out, if I had known I’d have ended up pulling the motor I probably would have done long tubes, always could down the road since there’s all new hardware would be easy to take the manifolds off

Got the car back this past Saturday here’s a few pics. Here’s a list of all the work done: exhaust manifolds and gaskets both sides, o2 sensors, EGR tube, intake, plugs, boots, injector o-rings, coolant tube intake under intake, silicone radiator hoses, oil pan gasket, front and rear main seal, oil adapter gasket, power steering hoses, oil cooler hoses, knock sensor, cylinder head temp sensor, oil pressure sensor, water pump, serpentine belt, belt tensioner, leather wrapped steering wheel, I’ll have to get some updated exhaust vids now that the manifold isn’t leaking.

Almost like new under the hood now. Now that it's back together can you notice the difference? Does it run a little better?

The EGR tube was cracked in two spots and had been leaking for some time which was causing a jumpy idle and since that’s behind the engine really had no clue it was that. It runs great now the plugs weren’t really that bad it looked like they had been replaced before and doing the intake resolves any issues down the road since they are known to crack. Going to be interested in seeing if there’s any mpg increase wasn’t getting bad mileage before but might get slightly better now.
