Ya I'm good with the 4 speed, I don't tow enough anymore anyway.

I'm thinking about keeping the vvt since it's so easy to keep. Probably going to splurge for the hptuners mpvi setup or whatever that is , more toys to play with.

Turbo? Now why did you have to go and mention a turbo? Maybe an lmg rebuild is in the future :p

Any idea what transfer case it would be? and what the pair are worth?
You'll have to google around for local market prices in your area. In Florida, they go for between $300-500 around that mileage. The transfer case is an MP3023 if it's an automatic with 2-speeds. If the Sierra has a single speed automatic transfer case, it's an MP3010. If it is a manually activated transfer case, it's an... gee I forget! LOL MP16XX or something like that. If you give the Sierra's "N" codes from the RPO sheet on the glovebox door I can look it up.

Mission Creep! Careful, before you know it that LC9 will have Darton wet sleeves with 4.125 pistons and a 4 inch crankshaft and 2 turbochargers on it!

Lol my pockets aren't that deep.

It's the 2 speed with auto 4wd, electronic shift so that would make it the 3023, thanks.

So after reading a bunch and getting real familiar with the afm system I'm wondering if a full delete is really necessary. If I shut the afm in the ECM and pull the valley cover and plug the oil passages, the only real problem that remains would be if a lifter spring were to break causing the lifter to go limp, correct? From what I've read a broken lifter spring is rare? I'm wondering if it's really worth the 1000 dollars to replace everything or just shut it off. I wasn't really planning on spending $500 just for HP Tuners, and another 200 for a clone Tech II, that's over a quarter of my budget. Shit gets deep quick lol.

@Coolman1987us There are other ways that the lifters can fail. Heck my lifter failed 6 months AFTER I tuned AFM off, while I was cruising to Target. It looks like the lifter turned sideways in in the lifter tray which is another common way that these fail. Lifter springs breaking isn't how the lifters fail there may be a misunderstanding about that.

I say you can start with a tune-delete now if you want and then do the hardware delete later down the road if needed.

It's going to be way easier to do it while the engine is out, I'll stop being cheap now lol. I'm going to start with a Texas speed kit I guess. Found one for $700 but not sure what it includes. I guess I'll start a parts list right now.

Well I learned something new today. The mileage is stored in the cluster not the ECM, who woulda thunk it. I figured the ECM would store it so you couldn't change the cluster and reset the mileage. Makes me wonder if my Tahoe has 199k or if its really more.....

Edit: this is the '13 sierra cluster
