2008 Tahoe will not start

2008 Tahoe LT. 161K miles. 5.3L.

I just got the car at an auction. It started the other day to go through the lanes but yesterday was dead. No sound at all when the key is turned. The headlights come on and also the lights inside.

Is it the starter? the BCM? what could it be? Some security lockout?

I have not pulled the codes yet.

First thing's first- check the battery cable connections at the battery terminals, frame, starter, etc. Disconnect them and make sure the metal is clean and then bolt them down securely
