2008 Yukon 2500, need a lift?

Hello all, new owner wanting to try and fit about 295s on this Yukon. The wheels are hidious and so are the tires. I plan on getting a completely new set but wondering what I should be looking in the form of a lift. I would like to stay away from trimming the fenders if at all possible. I went to a local shop and he said I could get a 6" lift. This is a daily driver for the wife and can't see her driving and trying to park this beast with 6" lift in the school parking lot. We just want some height so that when we go play in the snow or the beach we don't have to worry too much about getting stuck or clearance. Any ideas? I also keep reading about leveling. By looking at this picture is she level?

If you just want 295s then crank the torsion bars up some to level it and you should clear them easy. But if I were you I would go with this 6-8" lift on some 20x12 or 22x12 American forces on 33s. Trim front black valance to just cover bumper tabs. Remove running boards, door moldings, and badging. It would be super bad ass for a 2500!

Try to check out gmc - pro comp suspension - 4wheelonline.com as they have 4" and 6" lift systems for your rig. Rancho makes 4inch lift kit. If your Yukon 2500 has autoride, I know RCD and Fabtech are your options.

FTS and several others make kits for autoride not just the two you listed. I wouldn't get the pro comp but would get the rancho kit.

I'm planning on doing the Cognito lift.

Was looking more for if the OP ever lifted his to see how his height/tire/wheel setup worked out. Only 2500s I can find lifted are usually 7+ with 35s... not much data out there for what tires fit nicely at 5".

6-8" lift and get some 22x12 on 355 nitto trails

I've already had a truck with 8" lift and 36s.... not doing that with my Yukon.

Cognito NTBD is the way to go, that's settled in my mind.
