2008 Yukon Denali front end noise

My 2008 Yukon Denali has developed an interesting front end noise. It sounds like a coffee pot brewing during slow acceleration. I have put it in neutral and coasted and heard nothing. Also, I have slowly brought up the engine RPM’s to see if it was an engine noise. However, it did not do it then. It leads me to believe that it is in the drive train? Does anyone have experience with their Yukon making this noise?

frustrating, i too have this issue with my 2008 yukon denali, i have taken to a few local mechanics all have tried to sell me tires lol, I'm still convinced the noise is something else, no clue what it is tho

Well at least I am not the only one! I thought it might be the front differential bearing. However, it makes no noise while turning or when not in gear. I can tell you it is not the tires. My tires were shot so I just had them replaced and the noise was still there. I was hoping to get some ideas from this forum but so far no luck.

If it was either of those why does it not do it when i am rolling in neutral? I guess a bushing could do that. All of the wheel bearings that i have had go out make a noise when turning.

I have been having a similar issue. I am working on a diagnosis as well and have replaced the cv axle. No fix yet though. I am thinking it is in the actuator that takes it from 2wd to 4wd. I will let you know if I find out. Keep me posted

Could it be spark knock? I switched to premium and it seems to have gone away.

bringing this back up.. has anyone found an answer? just started having the same issue. Driver's side only makes noise when at cruising speed and driving dead straight. almost sounds like i'm running over the rumble strip. Wanna rule out a wheel bearing because ive had that happen before and its most noticable when I was turning. Thinking it may be the actuator as @wildmanjr1980 mentioned or possibly CV/Hub bearing? Just trying to get an idea of what it may be before i tear apart the front end. Thanks in advance.

It may be the transfer case...common problem. Thx God for an extended warranty.
