service traction control, service stability control and ABS lights on:
I recently had my rear air shocks replaced with a set from Arnott. When I got I the 2008 Yukon Denali to leave, the service traction control, service stability control and ABS lights were on. My mechanic tried pulling the codes from the truck, but his diagnostic tool kept locking up with a communication error. I went home and did some research. A quick call to Arnott tech support and they immediately diagnosed the problem as a disconnected ABS / tire position control wire. Makes perfect sense, when I think about it.
Coming off the back of the axle, just to the inside the wheel housing, is a wire that goes through a couple of blue wire holders (NOT connectors) and then heads up under the bed, just above the shock absorber on each side. BOTH of my connectors were unplugged. The passenger side connector was viewable after taking the spare tire off. Look through the cross member frame hole from the back. The Driver's side connector is impossible to see without mirrors, and we could only get one hand on it (by feel) to re-connect it. Put your hand above the cross member from the front to get to it. Both connectors are blue.
We then had to clear the computer codes twice before the error messages went away. They have not reappeared since. The placement of these connectors is STUPID. GMC designers must have never thought about anyone having to get to them. Or that mechanics working on the springs or shocks were likely to pull on these wires hard enough to unplug them.
I don't know why a tire rotation/change would affect these wires, but it sure would be a strange coincidence. If one of these wires was cut or broken internally, I suspect that it would throw the same codes.
Good luck!
