Hey all. So my 2009 GMC yukon hybrid power steering went out after I jump started a car the other day. The only code it was showing originally was C0460-00 which is Calibration not learned. I tried to do the procedure but with no power steering its very difficult and when I did do it it said not learned. I've checked all the fuses, checked voltage, and nothing.

PLEASE HELP.

can you look at live data from for the inverter?

I'd start with is it out putting 42v to the power steering from the apm I think it's called and of so, then try and connect and look at live data from the power steering module itself. if you can't connect to the module, then that's different level of stuff.

I've seen a few threads about jump starting the hybrid setting a disable code that needs to be cleared, but don't know that I've seen a thread about jumping another car. these trucks don't have alternators, so the inverter is trying to charge the other battery and is probably loaded to its max if hooked up while cranking. the inverter outputs the 300v for motors in the tranny, the 42v for power steering and 12v for the rest at something like 175amp max.

Hey there, thanks for that info. We checked power and voltage and keep coming up with nothing. But these two codes. The steeering wheel is still stiff so we cant calibrate it. So confused

can your scanner connect to the power steering module to look at live data? not just a fault code, those can be reported by other systems that can't speak to the module it's looking for.

it's hard to say if you have a communication problem or just not getting voltage to the module itself. if you don't have the 42v from the underhood inverter, you're not going to get any assist.

At this point you're going to need to do some hands on troubleshooting.

here's the diagram for the 42v +/- from the module to the power steering.

fuse 7 in the auxiliary fuse box is 12v to the module. at the module it looks like it's pin 6 of the x1 connector a rd/wh wire.

when you say it won't calibrat, do you mean it fails during the cal or it won't even run the procedure?

I ran my 12V battery flat and after recharging it my Yukon Hybrid randomly shuts off with a "SERVICE POWER STEERING" message. I wonder if charging my battery damaged something too.
