I am not a huge fan of leather so I decided to go with cloth seats in my new 09 Tahoe. I have cloth in my 04 Avalanche and I like it so I figured cloth would be fine.

Well unlike the cloth in my Avy, the "cloth" in the Tahoe is actually some sort of felt. It has extreme tach characteristics that cause it to attract a ridiculous amount of lint. The seats are constantly covered in lint and fuzz and look like total crap. To add to the problem the lint and fuzz will often times stick to your clothes after sitting in the vehicle so if you wear anything dark it looks like crap too.

I am not sure what Chevy was thinking using this ridiculous material but it is unacceptable. It seems like the only options to fix this is to either use seat covers, or have the seats re-upholstered. I don't personally like seat covers, and re-upholstering a brand new vehicle seems a bit silly and extreme. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Joe

sounds like a total nightmare... why dont you like leather again?

on my 2008 Yukon, I had a horrible lint problem. I ended up getting Katkin leather. I chose the Tuscany line.. its the softest leather I have ever felt. The best part is, since its real leather ( not like factory "leather") it adapts to your body temperature, and also it does not burn your skin on hot summer days....EVEN in ARIZONA!!! I love my Katzkin

To All. If you are in OC area stop by my place and check out the katzkin leather. You also can do suede centers, super plush... I worked at katzkin for a few years, and they make a killer product. Let me know if you have any questions about these kits, i can help.
