Hey guys. New to the board. Just bought a 2009 Yukon XL with the chrome package--I'll try to get a picture on here--, but the grill just isn't cutting it. I think I'm going to have to install the Denali grill (or is it grille?) with the lower section as well. Also planning on installing the iSimple iPod adapter so I don't have a wire running from the front of the navigation, and maybe an Alpine changer in the console, but that's a post for Audio & Electronics forum I guess.

I've read articles on the forum about swapping out the grills on '01 and '06 Yukons, but what about the '06-'11 models (I think they're the same)? What I'm asking is, does it require the entire front-end to be swapped like previous models or can I just take out the Yukon grill and install the Denali one?

The grilles themselves can just be swapped, no entire front-end swap needed.

Great to hear. Way better than the previous models with the whole list of parts. Way cheaper, too.

Yea, for the 07+ Yukon's, you can even get the matching lower grille (yea i think it's grille with an e) that the denali's really have. My friend has a black yukon with the upgraded stock denali grille's and it seriously makes a world of difference. Maybe you can spend your left over cash savings on a Denali/Esky Roof Rack :Handshake:

That's a great idea, Felix! I hadn't even thought about that. Just found a used one on eBay for around $100. Looks like I could compare that to an outrageous $560 on gmpartsdirect. Having trouble finding a simple red GMC emblem to attach to the grille, of all things.

I'm also trying to find the wood trimmed piece that goes on the top of the console lid--I think GM calls it the latch. I have no idea where to find that. Gmpartsdirect wants $140 for the one that goes on an '09! I think the '08 piece (still $60) would work, but that's high too!

I'm trying to figure out what else I would need to make it look like the Denali. Any idea? I recently bought the wood trim cupholder for the console, but I didn't remember that the trim pattern is slightly different for the Denalis. Going to have to either swap out the wood trim elsewhere or resell the cupholder.

I would have bought a Denali, but we bought our Yukon when it was a year old and the price was just way better.

Talking about the Denali roof rack, do the '07-'10 Yukons all use the same rack?

Good to know.

Said this in another post, but I found a roof rack salvaged from an '07 Denali XL that I'm thinking about getting for my '09 Yukon XL. Only $100 for the whole thing!!! End caps are even already painted white, though I'm not sure that will match our diamond tricoat. Just to make sure though, the cross rails are still black, only the side rails are chrome? And an '07 will fit an '09, right?

I know the 07 will for sure fit the 09 but not sure about the exact colors with the chrome and black stuff. I'm sure someone else will chime in with that info :)

Great call on installing the Denali grille. I've got a 2010 SLT and want to do the same thing.

Does anyone know the part numberss for the upper and lower Denali grille? I used to have it but misplaced it and dealerships won't give it out.
