how're u doin guys ??

it's the first time for me here and glad to be with u guys, my name is Aziz and i'm from Saudi Arabia.

i'm wondering about changing transmission fluid, my car got about 20k miles on it, if u would ask me why and it's to early!?

well it's not, because the weather in the Middle East is boiling. Even the tranny getting hot quicker that what it was.

I went to the dealership to ask about the tranny filter and they said just change the filter you don't have to change the gasket (if you remember guys the 4 speed tranny once u change the filter u have to change the gasket as well)

your suggestions guys.

Not sure what you are really asking or looking for. Are you doing it yourself or having the dealer service it?

Just my two cents, use GM OEM transmission fluid, change the filter, and change the gasket.

thankx Zed

I'm wondering about the fluid

and the gasket, does it have to be changed or not ? (for the new 6 speed tranny)

because the guy in the dealership said that the new 6 speed has a build-in gasket that you can use it twice or 3 times !! which doesn't have to be changed !! and i'm not sure about what he said !!

How are they charging you for that gasket? They should be cheap and why not replace it? The pan is going to be removed in any case to change the filter...
