Key fob just quit working, no low battery alert on dash etc. I put a new battery in but no response. I tried the reprogram procedure and I get the confirmation “beep” that it accepts the program but still no functions from the remote. Ideas?

hard to say, could be the fob needs the contacts inside cleaned or maybe it died, if you have a 2-way radio repair shop in your town swing by and ask them if they pick up any frequency from the fob when the buttons are pressed. (they should have a frequency counter and the freq range will be from 300-400mhz) I have a couple different ones I use for testing stuff I sell on ebay and I can easily tell if a fob is working or not. It's not worth buying one to just test your fob though. Other options are to take it to the dealer or buy another fob.

Most auto parts stores have a device sitting on the counter that can test your fob. It is usually right where they have all the different batteries for the various remotes.

You turn the device on and then hold the fob within a certain distance (instructions are on the device) and hit a button, if the device lights up the remote is functioning.

Kind of strange that you get the acknowledgment beeps, but the key fob doesn’t work.

I bought new key fobs a while back and programmed them with the learn program in the DIC.

I did learn that once in that procedure, I had to program all my fobs in the cycle. If I programmed one of the new ones, all the others were then not programmed. So I had to do all at the same time.

Just letting y’all know I appreciate the advice. My fob showed that it was working properly but only if I was within 6” of the tester. I took another fob and it worked fine up to 10’ away so I suspected the fob was bad. I bought a new one, programmed it and everything is back to working properly. I wish I knew more about them I’d try to repair the old one. It seems like the signal is just very weak.
