I’d get the Tech2 clone or all in with the same software that’s built into a preloved WIN 7 or 10 laptop that comes with a subscription for programming at ChinaCarDiag.com.
It took me months to use the Tech2 I got from them. I was afraid I’d plug it in and buggar something up. Once I got over that I was already wishing I’d spent just a little more and gotten the laptop/programmable version so I could update the software in every single one of the modules.
On a good note only a few components on the truck are VIN coded. Navi, Speedo, ECM, BCM. This Gen (4) is unlike Gen 5 (15-20) where everything is VIN coded. Used window switches, park assist modules & sensors, etc can be swap’d to other vehicles, even across platforms and makes, as long as they’ve been previously programmed.
