2010 Tahoe Replacement Key Reprogramming

this reprogramming method is listed in the manual - one would think gm would be privy to this information.....



...anyway, this method works perfectly though - I bought 2 keys off of ebay for $20 total...took the original & new keys into Walmart - they cut them for free - I programmed them, & they work just fine.


...also, if you are getting a new key fob, DO NOT go through the dealer - my honest dealer wanted $80 for a fob, $65 to program - got a OEM one off of ebay for $25 (with shipping), and programmed it (followed owners manual instructions) in 20 seconds.....

Hey there i just went to dealer to get a extra key made i was thinking i would pay 5- 10 bucks(i thought that was high but its the dealer) they wanted $40 thats crazy, do you have a part number or link to the ebay keys? thanks so much

I made a third set of keys for my esky for under 100 bucks, went to ebay and bought a blank for around 10 bucks, got a new fob for another 40 bucks. The cutting was done at a local hardware shop (2 bucks) and i used the programming that was described earlier. Programming for the fob was easy also, just program through the dic.

Here is the fob - make sure you order the right one for your vehicle (door lift, remote start or not...etc..)
