I have a 2010 Yukon Denali with 81,000 miles on it. At about 75,000 miles it started to shake at 50 and at 80-90mph. It is relatively smooth at other speeds. This is a shake that is felt in the passenger seat if I reach over and put my had on it and feels like a pounding of two or three beats per second. Not really in the steering wheel at all but in the seat and dash. I have Michelin MS/2's and have hd them since about 65,000 miles. The truck use to be as smooth as silk at all speed to over 100 mph. The dealer has road forced balanced and says the wheels and tires are perfect. I also had them check the drive line. They cannot find a thing. What else do I have them check? I want it back to the smooth ride I once had.

The tires may be finished. They can balance out but rubber deteriorates and I have had tires scallop where the tread blocks feel slightly uneven and rubber turned extremely hard. It really does sound like a classic balance issue though. If it were me I would see if it were possible to try another set of wheels/tires to rule out the tires or try checking balance at another shop. I know you took them to the dealer and they usually have the best equipment but they may be out of calibration. I have had that happen too. If you were thinking of new tires maybe now is the time.

I'd be surprised if it was a tire scalloping. Especially a Michelin after only 15K miles on them. Since it doesn't seem to happening when braking and only at certain speeds, I wouldn't think it was rotors either. What does confuse me is that you don't get the feeling from the steering wheel? If that's the case it would tell me it's suspension and not steering per se. front bearing, ball joint, etc. Balancing may also be the culprit, but it's odd to be at two different speeds unless you have two different tires with a problem. Biggest culprit I've seen with out of balance tires has been folks that use a crazy amount of soapy water to mount the tire so they don't tear the bead. That's great and all to not damage the tire, but they also end up inadvertently putting half a cup of water inside of the tire. this is especially a pain in the north when it can freeze overnight as the vehicle sits....

Yeah, might be the tires.. The tire might have a flat spot somewhere on the treads, or it might be out of round...
