Following up on a previous post. Putting an aftermarket no-name radio in my truck. It comes with the data plug and the wires are marked for volume up/down etc for the SWC. None of the wires in the pin diagrams for this truck are listed for this though. I've read that I may need a separate interface/module if I want the SWC and just want to confirm. Has anyone done this?

Yes, you need an interface unit, which is already configured to be plug and play with no cutting or splicing. Call Crutchfield and tell them what head unit you have, and they will tell you what interface unit you need to complete the installation and have all of your SWC's working.

just confirm the correct model needed and you can find axxess or metra units on ebay for around $30.
I bought one off of amazon one time and they mistakenly sent me a 5 pack, I used 1 and sold the rest on ebay lol
