Hi all

I have a 2010 Z71 Tahoe and i had a 2 inch daystar leveling kit put on it over the past weekend. I went to put some BFG 285\65\R18's on and they rub up front, barley. I had another 2005 tahoe do the same but i lived with it.

My question is: if i remove the 2 inch and install a 2.5 inch leveling kit is it going to help out. Right now the front is .5 inches lower than the rear anyway but i had to pay to have this kit put on and i dont want to have to slow down or creep up a driveway cause of a rubbing issue.

Oh by the way, yes its a 4x4...im old school. When someone says z71 its 4wheel drive to me. No harm intended.

SW CT,
get out your choice of cutter, some large tie wraps and go to town. Remove material behind the wheelwell liner adn then pull the liner back with the tiewraps.

i have the ccm leveling kit and its 2.5" up front with the exact same tires and the pass side rubs a little about 3x5 inch box, and the diver side i can see a very small amount of rubbing. It doesnt bother me as its usually only in full lock. ill try and snap some photos if you want to see.

Start trimming. I do not think the cost to increase only 0.5" in height is worth it, plus there still is minimal rubbing.

What do you guys think of if i were to goto BFG 275\65\R18's instead of the 285's?

I love these 285's but i am getting rubbing in the back as well when i go up some steep driveways.

I talked to Discount Tire and they are willing to take the 285's back and swap em out. I just want to make sure they wont rub either!

thanks for the input

275/65/18

275/65/18 will definitely fit with no rub, no trimming...I have Goodyear Duratracs on my 2007 Tahoe Z71 4x4 with no issues on STOCK rims. Front end has Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks...which are ONLY a 1.77" lift...so if you have 2" of lift...you will definitely have no issues.

Swacker do you have any spacers at the back end? Just wondering why you are getting any rubbing. Just went offroad on a very steep climb and had no issues with the rear tires.

yeah if you had spacers in the back, at least a 1" then the 285 shouldnt have been rubbing. i have had a full truck, 6 passengers, and gone all over the place and no rubbing.

anyway i hope the 275s work out better for you!
