2011 2wd PPV throwing P0496

One day this week the remote start stopped working. Throws CEL P0496. You could hear the click and the parking lights flash but no start. Turnkey ignition works fine, once in awhile weird starts. Power loss after that, goofy shifts here and there. Horrendous gas mileage.

Autozone scantool said "canister purge valve replacement" but I know it could be several different things tripping this EVAP code. After doing a little google research it seems it could be a solenoid purge valve under the hood, the evap charcoal canister by the rear qp, or a fuel pressure sensor near the fuel pump which is a bit out of my DIY range this frigid winter in the mountains.

Figured id hop back on the forum and see if any of you guys have had similar issues and how to troubleshoot.

You will need a scanner showing live data to troubleshoot the evap system. All the components of the Evap system are prone to failure so I would say there's no common part to point at and claim it would solve the problem. First step would be to make sure the fuel tank pressure sensor is working correctly.
