So I stumbled upon a 2011 escalade luxury with 148,000 miles on it for only $19,900.

This seems like an absurdly good deal, but I wanted to get the experts opinion. I'm a Ford guy, so I don't have much exposure to the GM side of things, but I know my way around a garage, if any possible issues arise. (I've swapped engines in explorers, and most recently my 1991 BMW 3 series - so I'm not afraid to dig into mechanical issues, I'd like to avoid engine swaps though).

Here's the screen shots of the carfax report, looks like it was pretty well taken care of, and was a commercial vehicle for the 2nd half of its life, which presents some added wear I'm sure:

Anything I need to pay specific attention to in regards to a vehicle of this high mileage?

Looks good aside from the 2nd owner driving the shit out of it.

The miles themselves don't scare me, as it seems rather well-maintained. If she looks clean & straight, and since you are mechanically inclined, go for it.

I just bought a 2011 tahoe with 123k. Highway miles are better than city. I think it speaks volumes that the car went this far with no issues. From what i hear, some cars have bad luck with issues in the 40 to 90k area. If you plan to use it heavy with major towing and commercial use, might be better to go with lower miles but if you need the space and a daily driver, high mileage would be fine. Everyone says these cars are reliable. I'm still a noob though.

Accidents only seem to be a big deal for resale value. These tanks can probably take a hit. A small civic I the other hand...

I agree that's a lot of miles for a 5 year old vehicle. But its worth looking into. Massachussetts means it'll have rust. Check on that if you go look at it.
