2011 Tahoe LT Tranny fluid flush/change?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had any info on how to change the transmission fluid on a 2011 tahoe, 6 speed?

I found another thread but realized it was for a nbs, not sure if it was here or on another site..

Cant figure it out, dont really want to change the filter, just the fluid.


Also, if anyone has any info on how to flush the power steering and the coolant?

Here is the write-up I followed when I did it.

Transmission:

For the power steering, I "flushed" via a series of dilutions. Used a fluid extractor to remove as much as I could and put fresh in. Then drove for a bit and performed the same procedure. Repeat as necessary until the fluid looks good.

The coolant I changed via removal of the lower radiator hose.

So... I did what they showed in the first pic, except I took off the whole line with a wrench, aka I did not remove the clip, etc... Fluid everywhere! What did I do wrong?

If you removed the quick disconnect at the radiator using a wrench instead of just pulling the clip to unhook the line, then that is where you went wrong. Put it back together like it was and get the proper fitting and hose as illustrated.

Just have to follow the step by step directions in that how-to.

is what i did, Basically the whole fitting, I was following those instructions...fluid kept pouring out.

So it will go differently if i actually remove the e-clip and pull out the line? Will any fluid come from the line?

No, that is the return line after the cooler. Hook up the hose with fitting to that port and feed the fluid to a bucket. It will help to have someone help you hold the hose pointed in the bucket. The fluid comes out pretty quickly and it needs to be secured.
