Pristine LT but is a little bumpy. 150K. I only drive around town so want to have a very smooth ride.

VIN: 1GNSCBE00CR255730

I'm interested in the order of replacement and best parts. I'm not sure OEM is worth the extra money but I'll hold off to hear advice.

I can't do a full rebuild all at once but need to get a smoother ride started.
I was thinking of shocks/struts and LCA bushing replacement first. Do I need to do the springs too?

I get a crunch sound from the front right and left depending when I back out and the tires drop off the curb as well as when I turn the wheel almost all the way to either side. Was hoping it's old shocks/struts.

I also have the Range OBDC plug to over ride the AFM.

Thanks!PXL_20211202_200443037.jpgIMG_20211021_151221.jpgPXL_20220225_140736489.jpgPXL_20220225_140742035.jpgPXL_20220225_140748805.jpg

I got a mevotech front suspension kit from rock Auto. It included the upper control arms so I also ordered lower control arms and bill stain, front struts and rear shocks. Hope to have it installed in a few days.

On a similar boat -- just about reaching 200K on my 07 and I think its the stock, original suspension.

Swathdriver posted a nice thorough breakdown of all the parts to overhaul a suspension:

I just ordered last night the KYB Gas-a-adjust struts and shocks for all 4 corners, with new springs too from Rock Auto. Also changing out the inner and outer tie rods

All parts installed. Not a huge difference, a little smoother. I don't think it was in that bad shape to begin with, but I wanted to get the creaking sounds out which the new ball joints took care of..

Overall I'm glad I have new parts. I wish it was a little smoother at slow speeds in the. neighborhood but maybe that's the way it rides

I'm currently looking for part numbers for the most comfortable soft ride possible struts and/or shocks for my 2012 LT. The new struts and shocks I have practically throw me out of my seat going over potholes under 40 mph.

why not just go with OEM? i think thats what i'm planning to do. i've read that the monroe shocks will end up raising the front a tad.

What brand and size and air pressure with regards to the tires?

Remember this, GM offers customized shocks and struts depending on how your vehicle is equipped and optioned. Bilstein, Monroe, etc. offer very few part numbers and are not as customized to your suspension. Having said that, many prefer aftermarket struts and shocks.

Mine also has the dumb suspension and rides like an old Cadillac with OE parts and Michelin Defenders.

Michelin defenders. 275/55R20

There appears to be a lot of options. Trying to work through that now and find the struts and shocks that will give me the smoothest ride.
