2013 cooling issues fan testing

I’m having some cooling issues with my 2013 Tahoe with the max tow package...I live in Utah and I tow a 2500lb camper through the mountains my coolant gets to about 220 and my trans gets about the same when towing up steep hills. We just followed my friend up the same mountains with his 2018 Silverado with a heavier camper and he had zero issues. I’ve looked over the whole cooling system and everything looks fine so I’m wondering if my fans aren’t working properly. They come on and work however how can I test that they are blowing 100% when they are told to ramp up when needed? Anything else I should look into? Thanks!!!

The fans Won't come on above 40 MPH.. So if you are at highway speeds, the
"ram air" effect is all you get.
Depending on your mileage, etc.... You could do a good coolant flush and also
a transmission service w. filter. Having new fluids is always best
You may have a bunch of crap built up on the outside of your radiator and esp
the AC condenser. That will hinder airflow thru the radiator big time

Awesome input I am already addressing all of these issues I’m going to flush coolant, change trans fluid with filter chain and also an upgraded trans cooler. I was also looking into a 160 degree thermostat what do you think? I’m replacing the radiator and plan to try and clean the fins of the condenser as good as I can it’s had 130k miles mostly highway I’m sure it’s clogged up

Don't go with a 160* Thermostat... IT's too cool and will not make your
engine run cooler unless it's cold out... A 180* would be a better choice if
you don't live in a cold climate. These engines are meant to run at 200* plus as
normal operating temp . Your cooling system has a certain capacity no matter
when the Tstat opens up

Ok makes since I didn’t think it would help however I’m new to the LS platform but logic tells me the thermostat is open at operating temp and opening earlier won’t help it cool down when towing I don’t think

Your experience is normal for these trucks. I have two Denali’s, and experience similar temperatures pulling a 2500 lb cargo trailer in Colorado.
