I have a 2013 Tahoe with Factory Installed Roof Rack. I have never carried anything on the rack. Recently it has begun to vibrate above 60 mph. I'd remove it but, the granddaughter has taken up surfing so I have to carry her board. I looked on Youtube and searched forums but could not find an answer. The rack attachment to the top of the Tahoe seems solid but the attachment and design of the crossbars seem somewhat flimsy. Suggestions?

I assume you have checked to make sure the Cross bars are tight to the side rails already?

The mechanism for holding the crossbars in position is the problem. It seems you lift a lever up to move the crossbar up and down the rails. When the lever is locked, the crossbar still moves back and forth about 3/8". It is very loose. I'm tempted to find a spot where I can drill a hole through both pieces, tap it, and secure with black button head socket cap.

Interesting. So the Tahoe’s have a cam-lock type device? I’m pretty sure all of my Yukon Denali XL’s and our Suburban LTZ had a hand knob to tighten the t-nut in the side rails.

Here is a picture of my ‘13 Denali

Can you post a photo of what you have?

If it is a cam-lock, can you somehow get in there and tighten the cam-lock up a little bit or make a shim spacer that fits between the cross rail end and the side rail to give a little more clamping force?

Where is the first crossbar positioned? In the owners manual it states "To reduce wind noise, put the front crossrail approximately 18-24 inches to the front supports"

Those ‘snap locks’ that you pull up to slide the cross bar wear and break so they won’t get tight and rattle slightly. Move cross bar slightly for or rearward to see if you can snap the lock down, if not you need new. Not entire cross bar, just the end pieces.

that’s a regular tahoe yukon rack and were pretty much the same from 01-14

also, the cross bars have to be perfectly aligned left to right to snap in. TheY can’t be cockeyed within the rails.

Thanks! I think I'll just drill, tap and put a bolt in it.
