Hi all. New here. I have a well taken care of 2013 2wd LS Texas Edition with 89k miles that I purchased a few weeks ago and I’m worried that the transmission is about to fail. Symptoms are listed below.

What I’ve noticed:

-Occasional power surge when upshifting typically from 1st to 2nd
-When cruising in 6th gear between 40-50mph and steady throttle, the RPMs will fluctuate (almost like the torque converter can’t decide whether it wants to lock or unlock) and of course this stops when I give it gas
-While driving, if I need to go around someone, I have to give it a lot of gas (sometimes to half throttle) so it’ll downshift and accelerate
-Rough idle

Trans fluid is full, clean, doesn’t smell burnt and looks relatively new. Trans temp is also seemingly normal. I have a SnapOn Ethos and did a deep dive into it and there are zero codes.

Here’s what it’s not doing:

-No issues off the line
-No “hard” shifting but shifting can be more pronounced at times
-Doesn’t seem to be slipping
-No clanks or clunks
-No jerks or lurches
-No loss of power and isn’t sluggish

Any insight will be more than appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Pics of the truck, please.

I cannot personally assist you with your issue, but other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.

It does sound like a transmission/torque converter issue, but @NickTransmissions will be able to ask some clarifying questions that will help you in your troubleshooting.
