Can I remove the side chrome molding and "YUKON XL" letters easily? Are they just stuck on or are there holes to deal with?

I guess the real question is: how do I best remove that stuff? or should I just black it out?

I am probably going to PlastiDip the stock wheels.

I am looking to clean up the look of the truck without going full-tilt crazy.

Thanks,
mark

demolding/debadging is easy and yes the letters and molding are just stuck on with adhesive. Get some fishing line to get behind the letters and molding and get them off. Then get a 3M Adhesive eraser wheel and get the adhesive off. You may need to do go back and wax/polish the area there the molding and letters were at but that's pretty much it.

...and if you're looking to clean it up a bit SKIP the plastidipping of your wheels. Just keep them as they are IMO

Thanks... 8.1 liter too! It'll be a daily driver with some towing duty a few times a year.

Mostly looking to make it a wee bit "cooler" and add some creature comforts inside.

I'm looking to add a stock (black) grille guard - I think.... I need more pictures and input before I decide though.

In order to properly pull off a grill guard you're going to want to add a lift as well. Stock height rigs with grill guards or bull bars just look awkward IMO

Just did this myself. 3 strips of adhesive on each molding. Eraser wheel is a must, best $40 ever spent. Your fingers will thank you. Factory fender flares and some new wheels would "cool" it up real quick. I would watch craigslist for some used wheels. Never know what you can find on Craigslist.
