So my key fob was dying and randomly setting off the alarm, etc, and I replaced the battery but now it will not unlock, lock, alarm, anything.

The key fob physically works and is detected which I know because if I hold down the lock and unlock for long enough it will go into TPMS learning mode. There is no service TPMS warning but I tried pulling the fuse to reset the module and it didn't change anything.

Do I just need to get the fob reprogrammed? Wouldn't want to pay for that and have it not work, since you can't program this year on the dash. Any ideas?

Did it lock and unlock prior to the battery charge? Do you have any dash lights on at all?

It sounds overly simplistic but have you tried a well known good battery like Energizer?

I would guess that maybe the remote is worn out if everythng else is working, maybe try openening it up and cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and try again, you can buy a new case and buttons online.
It's not working it only works to go into TPMS learning mode (lock and unlock held for like 15 seconds).

Yes I used energizer. The fob clearly has power but wont unlock the doors or any of the normal functions

So you only have one remote?

might try and find someone with a good scanner (tech 2)?

I would still try cleaning it and take the battery out again and let it sit a minute, the fob is not going to require re-programming simply because the battery was changed the memory in it is non-volatile, perhaps even remove the vehicle battery ground for a minute as well. this would clear it all out.
if that doesn't work then it's probably time for a new fob.

I had a 2019 yukon xl denali with something similar. All os a sudden the 2 Faubs would not open the doors or do anything. But if I pushed the button on the handle the doors locked and un locked. Also it would start once inside and pushed the button. This was intermittent. There is antennas in the front doors to pick up the signals. They were changed both sides 2 times. Along with batteries i the faubs. And even tried new faub and still the same. It was a real pain. After 6-8 times in 2 different I gave up and finally traded in the truck. Not just for that
(You sure you don't have my unit)

different system, different problem, entirely. changing the battery is not going to make the module in the vehicle go bad nor cause it to need reprogramming. in all likely hood it is a bad fob in this case. due to age and degradation of the fob electronics, dirt, dust, spilled liquids, etc
