Evening all!
Got a Custom Diablew Tune for the 2015 PPV and must say, I'm pretty impressed. According to the Trinity, 0-60 went from an average of three best stock runs of 6.78 to 6.54 (again, an average of the best three runs), same road, within 5 degrees ambient and 10% relative humidity (this is with the custom 87/89 tune). Not sure how accurate the Trinity is for a time to distance measurement (pretty sure it doesn't use GPS), but the improvement should be fairly consistent. Before the tune, truck was averaging 18.4mpg over four tanks of fuel (all I drove after purchase / before the tune). In the three fill ups subsequent the tune, the average mpg has been 19.7. Both figures were calculated by hand, fill-up at the same gas pump at the same time of day. I'd say that's a pretty reliable representation of what the tune can do. It's also gotten rid of the AFM which has made the truck much more pleasant to drive on the road.
The one thing I've been communicating with Lew about today, and there seems to be some confusion (in other words, I'm likely not listening correctly ): how do you change when the cooling fans come on? From what I can research online, the new body style Tahoe (L83) utilizes a 187 degree thermostat (like the older body style), but runs right around 210 degrees. Obviously great for emissions, not so great for power. I'm thinking that turning on the fans around 197-200 should allow the thermostat to be fully open and keep the coolant temps right there (200). This will also help keep the transmission fluid temps down since the cooler is on the end of the radiator. I do not see that parameter as adjustable within the Trinity, is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance!
