I swear, I learn something new everyday. Looking at this Tahoe, you would think that the wheels are fairly nice. They look good.

When I bought it, I didn’t even think that I needed to make sure they weren’t HUBCAPS!

I reached down yesterday to wipe something off of one of the rims and it jiggled. WTF?!? Upon close inspection, all four are hubcaps. SMH!

As expensive as these trucks are, you would think the manufacturer would at least include decent WHEELS on them! Hubcaps? Shady!

LOL, those are aftermarket "wheel skins." They run about $100 on ebay and come in black as well. You have the regular matte aluminum wheels under them - just pull them off and see if you prefer that look (I don't). Here's mine in black today and 4 years ago when I put them on. I also have some chrome versions like you have, but just haven't put them on yet. Yours look pretty good with the dark paint and BFGs...

I just ordered these wheel skins for my Tahoe. I was wondering if you can see the lighter colored wheel underneath around the edges? It doesn't look like it in your pics, but still I am still curious. I was thinking about getting a grease pen or something to hide the wheel underneath if its needed.

a lot of the "Newer" oem wheels do in fact have a plastic cover and unless you run a wide enough tire they are prone to getting scrubbed on the edge of the widewalk and will look like hell. You can't tell by just looking at them you have to reach down and feel them. once you know-you know.

So you purchased a vehicle and only inspected it after that fact to realize you had wheel skins…? SMH.

Before we start blaming the manufacturer there isn’t a single K2XX Gen Tahoe that was offered from the factory with “hub caps”.

As others have mentioned what you have there are wheel skins that can easily be removed if you don’t like them.

The old design did show a thin strip, but the new chrome ones are completely covered (which is probably why OP didnt notice until touching it). I imagine they all have the new design. I think the old ones attached better with a lip around every arm while these just pop on the hubs/lugs, but they look good, and are huge improvement over a dip or some other stop gap while you use up a set of tires...

Thanks. I went ahead with the glossy black ones and it showed the gray rims underneath. I hit it with some coats of plasti dip and it hid it quite well. IMG_4220.jpeg
