2015 Yukon XL DRLs Dim When Low Beams are On

Is this normal operation? I just replaced my low-beam bulbs with VLEDs micro evolution 6000k. I didn't pay attention before, but when the low beams come on, the DRLs dim. Is that how they're configured to work - assumption being that they don't need to be as bright at night? Thanks.
