2015 Yukon Xl Wont Start

I can go out to my Tahoe (has the electric step option) after it has set for a few hours, and unlock the door with the passive button. The 1st sign that something is wrong is the steps won’t come down. Get in and push the start button and I just get a click, and hear a faint sound, like the rear suspension pump is running at a very slow speed. Then the service theft light, service suspension, service side detection, steering column lock, service front camera messages appear. Then everything will go dark and do nothing for a few minutes. I can keep pushing the start button, pumping the brakes, whatever I want and it won’t do anything. Then for some unknown reason, after about 8-10 minutes the truck will start up. When it does start all of the messages go away, but for about 1 minute the interior lights brighten and dim and the gauges do some funky things. The steps go up and down like they’re supposed to. I can drive it around, go to the store and turn it off, come back and it’ll start right up. But if it sits for a couple of hours it will start doing the same thing again.

I’ve tried both key fobs and put them both in the little cubby in the console. Unhooked the negative battery cable for 30 minutes and then put it back. That reset everything, but the condition came right back.

At this point I’m thinking it’s either the battery or BCM.

We can put a beautiful Rover on Mars and send pictures back to Earth, but we can’t start the damn car to get to our job to design the next Rover!

check your ground cables & connections
there are 2 grounds one on each side of the frame (left & right) right under the front door hinge area that very dirty (some brainiac engineer)
if you trace the small ground wire from the battery down to the frame location, the drivers side one is in the same spot on the other side
clean those and re-attach it may or may not help some have reported it helped
there is another ground for the bcm but it is rather hard to get to basically under the left front dash speaker, if you google for the bcm ground there is a tsb for it, most of it for the pickups but these suv's use the same setup.

Could be some sort of clue because mine started the night I tried my remote start also. It started for the first cycle, but would not start the second time. When I got in it did start , but the next morning it would not. I disconnected the positive lead and waited a few minutes (thinking of re-booting the computer). Then it took some time before the lights came back on (I can’t believe there is that much capacitance in the electrical system to cause that delay) but then with a bunch more pushes of the start button, it started. No idea what the issue is....had it towed and it started when they threw a jumper on it and they still have it and it starts every time....leaning towards a loose wire or still possibly the battery

i just started repalcing the grounds on my truck for 3 reasons 1. i've read multiple threads on differing years all sounding the same. 2. i'm planning on putting a nice stereo in come spring, and the grounds matter. 3. i can visually see the factory ground straps are corroding, not good. seems to have made a difference , lights seem brighter, stereo sounds better. upgrading/replacing the grounds are a good idea in general. clean the spot down to the clean metal, replace ground, i then will put some lithium grease on it, then spray silicone to seal it up. my .02

I had the very same thing happen to me, and I just got it back 2hrs ago. The push button switch itself was the issue. The explanation above with clicking and the dash with all of the errors, identical. The dealer replacement part was $70.41 and the labor was $491.13. And get this to put in a new battery after they tested it was $79.99. That's right, connect the tester and take old out, put new in. 7 minutes=$80. This is why people have 15 year old vehicles as who can afford to get new or nearly new with these vehicles priced at $82,000. They also charged another diagnostic fee of $189. Struts in front $2600, rear shocks another $2400, etc. etc. Anyway, my issue that matched above was the push button switch that caused the problem.
