Just got word from my dealer that it looks like our 2016 Denali has a blown motor with only 3200 miles on it. Picked it up on 8/30.

CEL came on and started running rough instantly, was able to get to the side of the road and it stalled out.

Service advisor said lots of contamination and metal that's noticeable so definite internal damage.

Anyone else had this issue with a 2015i+ 6.2L?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Will be interesting to see what they say.

I'm not to happy with losing a motor at 3200 on a 75k vehicle. Makes you wonder if this is why they changed the warranty on the 2016 MY.

Shucks I'm literally in the market for a Yukon Denali. Subbed to this thread for updates.

I have read the article about the Corvette and the blown motor according to the article the issue is with smoothing out the heads to prevent metal shavings from entering into the camshaft or something of that nature anyways I'm fairly confident that GM has worked out the issues and that was isolated incident. I have two of these on order so if anyone is going to have issues it will be me I'll keep you posted

Sadly, I was hoping you meant you were adding a Maggie to your 6.2.

The Corvette and truck have different oiling systems - but I have heard of a few 6.2's blowing up in the first couple thousand miles

That kind of thing happens more often than we might realize. With as many of these trucks that are built there are going to be a small number that slip through with an undetected defect....we probably hear about it more now than we ever did because of social media and forums like this.

GM will take care of your issue 100%...but if it were me I would squeeze for as much additional compensation from this that I could get...maybe even a new vehicle!!

Good luck and keep us posted.
