I did a search before I posted and couldn't find this advice so in the hope that it will save someone $$ on transmission issue.....I started having a check engine light for my transmission and it started shifting rougher than usual but not a hard jerk. I took it to our regular mechanic and he said take it to a transmission shop which we did and this place has a good rep----to which they said it's the torque converter (they said that's common). I doubted that DX because of the symptoms so I started calling around. The 2nd dealership I spoke with a lady who said--that's not really a problem we see with 2016--that's more 2018ish. 2016's have a "special coverage issue" for the transmission harness--not a recall per se BC it isn't safety related. I dug for the paper work and sure enough that was it. It was covered in full at the dealership. I'll post the link for formal doc here for anyone who may need it. I know these bodies have transmission issue--this was my body's issue and luckily we fixed it before damage occurred.

Interesting. This issue seems to affect the 2017 too with the 8 speed. Mine had the same symptoms for over a year and someone in here posted a link to a guy out west who does Yukon videos. The old way was very involved, hence the long parts list. The replacement that you actually need is a $27 harness that has a temp sensor in it. Drop the pan and filter, replace harness section, refill and done.

My biggest question is however........who actually has a 10 year old vehicle with 120k or less on it? LOL

Did I say my mileage? It's Me. Ha! I have like a 6 mile radius. But, you are right, but with the special coverage the Dealership covered it. A reputable transmission shop immediately told me it was the torque converter and quoted thousands..they saw the body and immediately saw$$. I will forever second guess their opinion now.
