Hi everybody
I have a 2016 Tahoe LTZ and have been pretty happy with it.
It has approx. 60,000 miles on it....
and recently, I have noticed that it feels "sluggish"... mostly at lower rpms or city driving. On the highway it seems fine.

Not sure if it's my imagination but.. just seems like you have to push on that accelerator pedal a bit further to make it respond quicker.

Anybody else experience something similar or have some thoughts on this?

thank you all

Yep, having the same issues with my 2016 Tahoe, slow throttle response and seems to bog out and hunt for the right gear. Yesterday I turned the Tow/Haul mode on and it seem to run a hell of a lot better. Better throttle response and better shifting, the tow/haul mode was a result of doing some searching about this issue. Some liken it to be like a sport mode,

Thanks, that's is a real nice toy for sure, what are you running n the 1/4, looks like a runner for sure,

As for a solution I haven't found one yet and I work at GM, going to be contacting some of my powetrain engineers that I know and see what they say, but it does really suck, let me know what you think of the the Tow/Haul mode,

Hi Carl
It's a "street car".... ya.. I know... full tube chassis chrome moly street car.. but.. it is a 535" Pontiac motor and runs on pump gas and I made a couple of passes last summer and it went 9.70 141 mph and there was a bit more left in it.
It's more of a street car /show car though but wanted to make sure it could back up it's look.
It's done very well at some major car shows. I've owned the car since fall of 76. I was 18 yrs old when I bought it. never seen snow or rain.. body is perfect.. paint is from house of kolor and it just outstanding!!8543832432_40b6f31aaa_z_40240498324_o.jpg

Torque converter. These trucks have torque converter issues that start as sluggishness and end up with a blow tranny at around 100k . I rebuilt my transmission 3 times . The transmission guy told me that his customers with this vehicle were experiencing problems so hes now going with heavy duty torque converters. Replaced mine with a heavy duty the 3rd time around and it seems to be doing the trick.

If you get to the point where you have to get a rebuild, just remember to always replace the torque converter with a heavy duty one , megatron and valve body along with it or else you will have to go back in there and do that later

Outstanding car and looks great, was that picture taken at the Detroit Autorama? It looks like it was, and those are some really awesome times for a "Street Car" :signs8:

Are there specific years that are affected in regards to prematurely failing torque converters? What fails internally?
