No thoughts beyond taking it back to the shop to have them fix it, if they caused the problem. If they didn't (or if them simply disabling the AFM resulted in lifter failure), it will need to be fixed one way or another (if it's your lifter and not an injector). I think some scan tools can perform injector balance tests, not sure which one but if you have a bidirectional scan tool, check it to see if you can do that with yours. I'd rather diagnose it myself than take it anywhere. At least you know for sure (assuming you do it correctly) what the problem is vs relying on someone else who may or may not be honest w/you.
