2016 with a dead battery

Was going to head to my airbag recall apt. yesterday morning, except my HOE wouldn't start. Not a peep. Luckily a neighbor was home and got it jumped, made my apt and got a new battery (free of course).

Was curious if anyone else has had a similar experience? I drove it the afternoon prior, no indications this would happen the next morning.

when we purchased ours (2016 LTZ) salesman got the keys and went to crank it. Nothing. No interior lights etc. Had to get jump box and jump it. I made sure it was noted and they ran tests on it prior to purchasing. Thought it was odd as well. Salesmen said it hadnt moved in a few weeks. No issues since then and 5k miles later.

Same here. Went to the dealer looking at '16 XL Denali's back in Jan and 6 of them were bone dead on the lot. Seemed kind of ridiculous all of them were dead however, they tested and replaced with a new battery... no problems since.

Yes and no depending on the dealer size. If they are a large lot that truck could have been sitting for awhile. We have some lots that keep 30+ Tahoes and Suburbans on hand so it is likely that they do not move for long periods of time.

I had fun with the sales rep considering they had eight XL Denali's on the lot and six were dead. He just looked at me and shook his head. End of the day... battery's crap out more often than not.

I'm not sure how it works with GM vehicles...but I know if you leave the key in the ignition of a Toyota or Lexus for more than a day or so the battery will be DEAD. I mean GRAVEYARD DEAD !! I've seen this happen in garages and car lots where the keys may be left in the switch for convenience.

Guessing it has to with people turning the key on and messing this and that and never starting the truck or for not long enough periods.
