Considering a 2016 Yukon Denali for my wife. I’ve never owned a GMC before and went and looked at the vehicle this morning. To me the rear suspension on this vehicle looked raised. Tires were spec size 275-55-R20. It had BWI suspension which i believe is factory. Just seems like a lot of distance between rear tire and top of rear fender. What are your thoughts?

that's normal ride height
Do you know if there is supposed to be a cover here? There are exposed wires possibly for a brake controller.

I respectfully disagree on the ride height question. My understanding of the Z95 suspension is that it should automatically level the truck at startup, and keep it level even when you load items into the back. That is what my Z55 suspension does, and it preceded the Z95 suspension.

I do not believe that there is a cover there. Those hanging wires should not be hanging and visible, and I would attempt to confirm what those disconnected wires are for.

The ride height looks right, the do have a bid of a rake.
The wires have been added, those spade connectors are not original equipment.

So is there anyway to confirm the height is correct? The tires are pretty worn and are 20” wheels so I’m wondering if it’s more of an illusion when looking at the wheel well.

If you measure the height in both front and back, from the ground to the fender, vertically in line with the center of the wheel hub, you can confirm any deviation from level.

I have that year with the magnetic shocks. The rear is approximately 2" higher than the front. They came from the factory with that rake. I didn't like it either and put the 1.75" SuspensionMaxx level kit on it....almost level, still a little rake.
