I am looking at an SLT harness that has it. Replacing the harness is the only way to do it, besides tapping the lighter plug. I'm looking to have the radio show the charge icon when its active that is a trigger line in the harness to the HMI unit.

Please report back about the charging indicator if you replace the harness. I’m curious if any programming of the HMI or BCM is needed for it to work.

I have done the same but i just ordered the charging module and the harness wire. After installing the module in the center console lid and connecting it to the exciting wire in the back of center console i find out that no power comes to that wire. Maybe because the fuse dont exist since the car doesn't come with wireless charging option.
Tried to locate the fuse in fusebox but no luck.

The charger is only powered when the ignition is on, but I assume you've tried that. You may want to check with your local Chevy dealer and see if they will print you a wiring diagram for the charger circuit to determine what powers it. A lot of the accessories on today's vehicles are powered through the Body Control Module and may need reprogramed to configure the wireless charger.

Hi, This forum has been helpful for me and I successfully replaced the wireless charging with the 2018 OEM parts, including the charging icon showing.... hope this is helpful to others. I have a 2017 Escalade. I purchased the OEM 2018 OEM GM charging module and the 2018 wiring harness for the module. (Part numbers are on other posts and forums but I can share if someone needs them. Replacing the wiring harness requires removing the back of the console and there's alot of electronics back there. I opted to cut the connector for the new module and connect it to the existing wiring harness, worked flawlessly and I have the charging icon and it works great. There's 3 wires (purple/Yellow, Green and Black(Power) I uploaded some pictures. The white connector image is the old wireless charging module connector but it shows the 3 wire colors. Note you need to connect the new Black connector to your existing wiring harness. If anyone has any other questions let me know. Thanks, Brando

So what did you ask for when you were looking for the new wire harness? An 18 harness is an exact match for a 17? Did the new harness have extra connectors that didn't connect to anything because it had other features that your truck my not have had? Any pics of where the BCM harness location is?

Thanks and nice work!

@Kittmaster here’s the wiring schematic for the wireless charging module.

You can see where the wires eventually land in the center console connector (X300), then on to the left body harness to I/P connector(X225) and finally break out to a fuse block, the BCM and one of the body grounds.

I removed the back of the center console, the lid and the bottom of the inside compartment. You have to start at the back of the console; once this is off you can get a good view inside of the connections at the rear of the console; the rear environmental controls, 110v power, etc. . sorry...no pics.

Did you ever install the oem wireless charger to your Tahoe? I assume yours did not originally come with the wireless option.

I rather install the oem charger than retrofit.

I plan to try to get the needed parts over the summer. I have the full service manuals for my truck, just one of those things that I can't get to soon, but at least it seems like it will work with acquiring the right parts 2018 and forward > and seems like the newer charging mat to allow for wider phones. Been busy and just got a chance to check in on this thread...... :)

Why do people care about the wireless charging mat? You can only use CarPlay or android whatever when the phone is physically plugged in...which charges it anyway??

Why do we care? Because not everyone use things the same way you'd expect. I have a dedicated phone that is attached to USB all the time for nav, but my regular phone on my hip or my wifes phone would do nicely to get a minor charge when put on the mat......YMMV
